RSVP below to secure your spot! \n\n\n\n\n\nMeet Our Speakers\n\n\n\nOpening Remarks\n\n\n\n\nMary-dith Tuitt \n\n\n\nChairwoman\, Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nA Boston resident and a Community and Peer Veteran Specialist\, was first appointed to the Commission by the Massachusetts Caucus of Women Legislators in 2011\, now serves as a Governor Appointee to the MCSW. Tuitt presently serves as President of the National Association of Commissions for Women and has served as Chief of Staff for the late State Representative Gloria L. Fox\, where she worked for the Constituents of Boston\, providing support to the underserved communities of Boston\, and has worked on various political campaigns.  An alumnus of the Boston Public School system\, Mary-dith graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1985. Shortly after graduation\, Mary-dith entered the United States Navy\, where she served fourteen years as a Navy Aviation Machinist’s Mate\, first on active duty and then in the active & inactive Reserves. Mary-dith runs her own special events coordination business that specializes in design\, planning\, decoration and assisting her clients in making their dreams reality. \n\n\n\n\n\nGaby King Morse \n\n\n\nPresident & CEO\, Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE)  \n\n\n\nGaby King Morse brings over 25 years of experience as a visionary leader in both non-profit and for-profit sectors. At CWE\, she provides training and technical assistance to women entrepreneurs across New England and partners with organizations to influence policies that propel women entrepreneurs forward. She has also co-founded Fernwood Cove\, a private all-girls summer camp in Maine\, and serves on the advisory board for Mentorworks. She holds a degree from Cornell University and an MBA from Babson College.   \n\n\n\n\nSession 1: Using Data and Evidence to Support Women’s Entrepreneurship\n\n\n\n\nLucia Sanchez \n\n\n\nVice President of Impact & Learning\, Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE)  \n\n\n\nLucia Sanchez leads CWE’s efforts to become a dynamic learning hub that uses data and evidence to increase its impact. With nearly two decades of experience in economic development across public\, nonprofit\, and academic sectors\, she provides strategic leadership in shaping and executing impactful strategies to support women entrepreneurs. Prior to joining CWE\, Lucia spent 10 years at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA)\, where she led the Entrepreneurship & Private Sector Development Program\, coordinating research networks and agendas to inform development policies and interventions. She holds a Master’s in Public Administration in International Development (MPA/ID) from Harvard University.  \n\n\n\n\n\nYing Gao\, PhD Senior Policy Manager\, J-PAL Global at MIT   \n\n\n\nYing Gao is a Senior Policy Manager at J-PAL Global at MIT\, where she drives evidence synthesis and generation\, policy engagement\, and partnership development in the Firms (private sector development) sector. She also conducts research on the relationship between economic informality and social behavior in Southeast Asia and Latin America. She previously worked on sustainable urban and regional development initiatives at the United Nations Human Settlements Programme\, and was a corporate finance associate at the Development Bank of Japan. \n\n\n\nYing holds a PhD in Political Science and a Master in City Planning from MIT\, and a BSci in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. \n\n\n\n\n\nNina Teng Director of Global Entrepreneurship & Ecosystems\, Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship  \n\n\n\nNina Teng is a Lecturer and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at MIT\, focusing on evidence-based approaches to entrepreneurship education. She is also a PhD candidate in Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the London Business School\, studying how organizations scale up radical innovations through strategic positioning and fundraising. Nina holds a Master’s in Public Administration in International Development (MPA/ID) from Harvard University.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nSession 2: Policy and Practice Panel Discussion\n\n\n\n\nMichelle Miller Vice President of Program Operations\, CWE  \n\n\n\nMichelle Miller oversees CWE’s six programmatic hubs\, including five Women’s Business Centers and the regional center. She ensures that CWE’s programs effectively support women entrepreneurs at various stages of their business journeys.   \n\n\n\n\n\nAnuradha Yadav Executive Director\, Women Of Color Entrepreneurs (WOCE)  \n\n\n\nAnuradha Yadav co-founded WOCE to create an inclusive community supporting women of color entrepreneurs. With a background as a corporate attorney at State Street Bank and Ropes & Gray\, she has led organizations like Fairmount Innovation Lab and TiE-Boston\, focusing on fostering entrepreneurship. She is also a Trustee Emerita of the University of Vermont. \n\n\n\n\n\nShonté Davidson CEO\, Better Together Brain Trust (BT2)  \n\n\n\nShonté Davidson is the CEO and co-founder of BT2 Energy\, a Boston-based clean energy firm leading community-driven solutions in transportation electrification and building decarbonization. With over a decade of experience in supplier diversity and program implementation\, she has built a track record of turning bold ideas into scalable\, equitable initiatives—most notably securing a City of Boston contract to install curbside EV charging stations. Recognized as one of MassLive’s 2025 Black Leaders of Massachusetts and a recipient of multiple industry awards\, Shonté continues to champion inclusive growth\, strategic partnerships\, and innovation in the clean energy sector. \n\n\n\n\n\nMadeline Cabrera\, PhD Co-founder & President\, Emmaty\, Inc.  \n\n\n\nDr. Madeline Cabrera leads Emmaty\, a technology and innovation company supporting women entrepreneurs. She holds a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University and has completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Harvard’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. \n\n\n\n\n\nKatie Bouton Founder & Managing Partner\, TAVO  \n\n\n\nKatie Bouton brings 30 years of expertise in human capital\, talent acquisition\, and business strategy. She founded Koya Leadership Partners\, an executive search firm for the social impact sector\, and led it to a successful exit in 2019. At TAVO\, she continues to support mission-driven organizations in scaling their impact. She has a Master’s in Human Resource Development from Towson University and a Bachelor’s in English\, Journalism\, and Women’s Studies from the University of New Hampshire.  \n\n\n\n\nFacilitators & Moderators\n\n\n\n\nPriya Iyer Adjunct Professor\, Carroll School of Management\, Boston College  \n\n\n\nPriya Iyer is a high-growth serial entrepreneur with a track record of delivering exceptional stakeholder value. She has served as Chairman\, CEO\, board member\, investor\, and operating partner at various technology and services companies. Most recently\, Priya was CEO of Concertiv\, a leading fintech procurement-as-a-service platform\, and is an Operating Partner at Long Arc Capital\, a growth equity firm based in NYC. She was previously Chairman & CEO of Vee24\, an omnichannel customer experience platform\, and Chairman & CEO of Anaqua\, Inc.\, an Intellectual Asset Management platform valued at over $3B. Priya has a Bachelor’s from Anna University Chennai and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.  \n\n\n\n\n\nCarol Campbell Commissioner\, Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women  \n\n\n\nCarol Campbell is the President/CEO and Founder of Chicopee Industrial Contractor\, certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise. With a degree in Organizational Leadership from UMASS/Amherst\, she has developed a corporate culture emphasizing stakeholder engagement and women’s leadership. Carol joined the commission as an appointee of Governor Baker in 2022.

As we reflect on the 5 years since COVID\, we’re releasing an updated survey and holding a public hearing to hear from you regarding issues that women of color face here in Massachusetts. \n\n\n\nPublic Hearings are an opportunity for women across the Massachusetts to give testimony on issues that matter most to them\, which directly inform MCSW’s policy priorities. The event is free and open to the public – and entirely virtual. DESCRIPTION:Want to get ready for Advocacy Day 2025? Join us for a virtual training on how to advocate for issues you care about in front of legislators and other elected officials! This training will be recorded and will be shared with all registrants after the event. \n\n\n\nThis training will be led by Sana Fadel\, Deputy Director\, Citizens for Juvenile Justice: Sana Fadel is primarily responsible for CfJJ’s legislative advocacy and is the lead organizer of the statewide Massachusetts Juvenile Justice Reform Coalition. Prior to joining CfJJ\, Sana was the Director of Public Policy at Rosie’s Place\, a sanctuary for poor and homeless women in Boston where she led campaigns on access to substance use treatment\, strengthening families involved with the child welfare system\, and improving services for customers applying for and receiving public benefits. She was responsible for advocating at the state-level on issues affecting Rosie’s Place guests as well as empowering them through voter mobilization and advocacy trainings. Lunch will be provided. \n\n\n\nSpeakers:   \n\n\n\n\nMary-dith Tuitt\, MCSW Chairwoman (Moderator) \n\n\n\nThe Honourable Bernadette Jordan\, Consul General\, Canada\n\n\n\nAna Durán de la Colina\, Consul General\, Spain\n\n\n\nFernanda Soza\, the Executive Director of ChileMass\n\n\n\nWith Welcome Remarks from the Co-Chairs of the Massachusetts Caucus of Women Legislators\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Our Speakers: \n\n\n\nMary-dith Tuitt\, Chair of the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women \n\n\n\nMary-dith Tuitt\, Boston resident and a Community and Peer Veteran Specialist\, was appointed to the Commission by the Massachusetts Caucus of Women Legislators in 2011. Mary-dith was born on the Island of Montserrat in the British West Indies to Henrietta and Michael Tuitt. Tuitt presently serves as President of the National Association of Commissions for Women and has served as Chief of Staff for State Representative Gloria L. Fox\, where she worked for the Constituents of Boston\, providing support to the underserved communities of Boston\, and has worked on various political campaigns. Over the years\, Mary has always been involved and invested in enriching\, enhancing and empowering her community. She served as a volunteer with Boston Public schools\, various community youth groups\, and with her church\, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Columbia Road in Dorchester\, MA. An alumnus of the Boston Public School system\, Mary-dith graduated from Boston Technical High School in 1985. Shortly after graduation\, Mary-dith entered the United States Navy\, where she served fourteen years as a Navy Aviation Machinist’s Mate\, first on active duty and then in the active & inactive Reserves. Mary-dith runs her own special events coordination business that specializes in design\, planning\, decoration and assisting her clients in making their dreams reality.  \n\n\n\nBernadette Jordan\, Consul General of Canada in New England \n\n\n\nThe Honourable Bernadette Jordan was raised in a small fishing community on Nova Scotia’s South Shore. Bernadette graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with a BA in Political Science and began her career in the field of economic development. From there\, she went on to a career in community news\, spending almost 12 years as the special projects manager for the award-winning newspaper publisher Lighthouse Publishing. During this time\, she received multiple awards and served as the president of the Atlantic Canadian Newspapers Association and as a member of the board of the Canadian Community Newspapers Association. In 2006\, Bernadette left community news to take on a new role in fund development with the Health Services Foundation of the South Shore. Her work helped the foundation raise millions of dollars for health care in her community. In 2015\, she ran for and won a seat in the House of Commons representing the riding of South Shore-St. Margarets by the largest margin ever in the riding and became the first woman to hold the seat. In 2019\, she became the first Minister of Rural Economic Development and later that same year became Minister of Fisheries\, Oceans\, and the Canadian Coast Guard. This made Bernadette the first woman elected in Nova Scotia to hold a seat at the Cabinet table. After leaving politics in 2021\, Bernadette went back to her fund development roots\, accepting a position as the national director of philanthropy with Shelter Movers\, a volunteer-powered charity providing free moving and storage services to people\, primarily women and children\, leaving abuse. She is the recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for her service to Nova Scotia and Canada. In 2023\, Bernadette was appointed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to serve as Canada’s Consul General in New England. She and her husband\, David have three children. \n\n\n\nAna Durán de la Colina\, Cónsul General\, Consulado General de España en Boston \n\n\n\nAna graduated with a Degree in Law and worked as a Parliamentary Assistant in the European Parliament in Brussels before becoming a diplomat in 2008. As a diplomat\, she worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Madrid in the Sub Saharan Countries Department and has held several positions abroad: at the Embassy of Spain in Pakistan (2012-2013) as the Head of the Consular Section\, at the Embassy of Spain in Santiago de Chile (2013-2017) as First Secretary and at the Embassy of Spain in Slovenia (2017-2019) as a Deputy Head of Mission. Before her appointment as Consul General of Spain in Boston in 2021\, she was assigned at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Madrid in the European Union countries department. \n\n\n\nFernanda Soza\, the Executive Director of ChileMass \n\n\n\nFernanda is a lawyer from Universidad Católica de Chile\, and LL.M from Boston College Law School\, admitted to the Massachusetts’ and Chile’s Bar Associations\, with a long experience creating teams and catalyzing ideas in very different areas. Fernanda founded a law office\, was Director of a Law School\, and a City Councilor in the south of Chile. She moved to Boston in 2013\, receiving the Leadership Award from the Master of Laws program\, served on the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court\, and worked at Boston College as a Luksic Scholar.  In June 2018\, she joined ChileMass and\, a year later\, she was appointed Executive Director. As such\, she is responsible for overseeing the administration\, programs\, and strategic planning of the organization.
