Welcome to the Girls Empowerment Leadership Initiative – also known as GELI!

Here at the MCSW, we’re committed to building the future of the Commonwealth – starting by investing in our girls and gender expansive youth ages 14-22. Our programs help us guide policy recommendations to legislators and government agencies that will directly address inequities impacting women and girls to enhance opportunities for them in all aspects of life.

GELI 2024

We are excited to host girls and gender expansive youth ages 14-22 ages on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Simmons University: 300 Fenway, Boston, MA 02115. Registration and Check-in will take place from 9-10am. Programming will take place from 10am-3pm. Lunch, snacks and transportation will be provided!

Participants will explore their leadership styles, gain confidence to advocate for issues within their communities and expand their legislative advocacy skills by attending the full day of in person activities. We will also host a youth forum to learn more about issues impacting young people across the state.

• Girls+ ages 14-22 years old

When:

• 1-day, in-person event during School Vacation Week and hosted on Saturday April 20, 2024. 2023.
• 9am – 10am: Registration and Check-in
• 10am – 3pm: Event programming (lunch included)

Where:

• Simmons University: 300 Fenway, Boston, MA 02115.

You Will Need

• Any doctor-approved medications as needed, layers to be comfortable indoors.
