Girls Empowerment Leadership Initiative (GELI)

MCSW’s Annual Girls Empowerment Leadership Initiative (GELI) organizes girls and gender-expansive youth across the Commonwealth to engage in civic engagement training that prepares them to advocate for issues in their communities.

Here at the MCSW, we’re committed to building the future of the Commonwealth – starting by investing in our girls and gender expansive youth ages 14-22. Our programs help us guide policy recommendations to legislators and government agencies that will directly address inequities impacting women and girls to enhance opportunities for them in all aspects of life.

GELI seeks to empower youth across the Commonwealth to advocate for themselves and their communities. This initiative focuses on developing leadership and civic engagement skills through educational workshops, skill-building opportunities, and the opportunity to connect with peers across the state.

Please email Shalaya West, MCSW Program and Research Director, at MSCWGELI@mass.gov to volunteer or learn more about our GELI program and how to get involved.
